So, Will has some interesting friends.
Last night, we went over to the home of some of his old roommates to play Apples to Apples. Now, Apples to Apples is a game very close to my heart. It combines ingenuity, reading people, playing off of inside jokes, and luck. In the case of Ben and Lindsey, though, it includes cheating. In the case of Albert, it includes attempting to read cards despite being slightly inebriated.
When we got there, the residents were intently watching "Who's Line is it Anyway?" with a plethora of Apples to Apples game boxes stacked on the coffee table. I mean, there were at least eight boxes, probably more! Dustin told Will that since we came late (math homework), we had to set up. I asked which version to set up. They scoffed at me. Will set about opening every single box there, placing them around the room. Original, Jr., every expansion pack ever made, Bible, Disney, To-Go, and Family versions were all mixed alike. It was the most entertaining round of Apples to Apples I'd ever played.
Well, except that I couldn't possibly win. The guys had too many inside jokes to compete. I mean, the only cards I won were accidents: playing a person card as a throw away, then getting a huge laugh and the win. It was still amusing to play, though.
The other card game that has gotten huge is Munchkin. This one is mostly just for the hallway. Oddly enough, Ryan and Josh just got home with Super Munchkin. It's become an epidemic in our hall. I heard that tonight, they're playing "drunken munchkin," involving a shot whenever someone goes up a level. I will not being attending, as it will be depressing to watch someone barf on a brand-new set of Munchkin cards.
